AHA Heartsaver First Aid Training in Tempe, Arizona
Heartsaver First Aid can be combined with Heartsaver CPR AED as part of a Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course.
For BLS students, First Aid remains a separate Heartsaver course and is not included on the BLS Provider eCard. Students who need both BLS and First Aid must complete both course requirements and receive separate certification credentials.
Add First Aid to Your CPR or BLS Training
Many students need more than CPR certification alone.
Heartsaver First Aid can be added to CPR/AED or BLS training to provide additional instruction in responding to common injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies.
At Arizona Premier CPR, First Aid is commonly selected as an add-on for students whose employer, school, licensing organization, or workplace requires both CPR and First Aid training.
If you only need First Aid certification, the course may also be completed on its own.
BLS Does Not Include First Aid!
American Heart Association BLS training and Heartsaver First Aid are separate courses.
If you are a BLS student and also need First Aid certification, First Aid must be added separately.

What You Will Learn in Heartsaver First Aid

First Aid and CPR Serve Different Purposes

First Aid expands your training to include injuries, illnesses, and other emergencies that may not require CPR but still require immediate care.
Many employers require both because the skills complement one another.
Classroom & Blended First Aid Training
Depending on availability, Heartsaver First Aid may be offered through traditional instructor-led classroom training or AHA Blended Learning.
Classroom Training
Complete your First Aid instruction and required hands-on training directly with an instructor.
Blended Learning
Complete the online learning portion independently, followed by the required hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor.
Both formats use current American Heart Association science-based training and can result in the same Heartsaver First Aid course completion card after all requirements are successfully completed.
Adding First Aid to Your Course
If First Aid is available as an add-on to your CPR/AED or BLS registration, select the First Aid option when booking or contact Arizona Premier CPR before your scheduled class.
Because First Aid includes additional course content, training requirements, and certification, an additional fee applies.
If you have already registered for CPR/AED or BLS and later discover that your employer also requires First Aid, contact us as soon as possible so we can review the available options.
What Certification Will I Receive?
Upon successful completion of the applicable Heartsaver First Aid course requirements, students receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid course completion eCard valid for two years.
If you are also completing BLS, your First Aid certification is separate from your BLS Provider certification.
Students who successfully complete both courses will therefore receive separate AHA course completion credentials.
